اختر النوع المناسب من الخشب (الفئة الصحيحة) لتصحيح الكثافة.

تأكد من أن المسابّب نظيفة وخالية من الصدأ أو الأوساخ.

لا تستخدم الجهاز على خشب مبتل جدًا أو مشبع بالماء — النطاق الأقصى 40 ٪ تقريبًا.

تجنب القياس على سطح متلوّن أو مطلي أو معطر جدًّا لأن الطلاء أو الورنيش قد يُخفي الرطوبة تحت السطح.

القياس في ظروف درجة حرارة معتدلة (0 °C إلى 40 °C) للحصول على دقة أفضل.

قُم بقياس عدة نقاط في الخشب للحصول على متوسط أفضل، خاصة إذا الخشب متعرّج أو غير متجانس الرطوبة.

لا تضغط المسابّب بقوة زائدة على الخشب لأن ذلك قد يسبّب تشوّشًا في القراءة أو تلف في الجهاز.
